This product is lightweight and is made using strong, robust polymers and processed additives. Specialized coating lines are also added on the textured top surface fabric so it can act as a durable substitute for asphalt saturated felt. The underlayment sheet features a woven polymeric scrim for increased strength and reduced slippage between underlayment and the roof sheathing and can replace #15 and #30 felt surfaces. It is used beneath primary fiberglass, asphalt and tar shingles, shakes, stone coated steel roofing shingles, synthetic slate or sloped installations of standing seam metal panels. It is 100% inorganic (synthetic) and offers long term protection from moisture, rain, wind, snow, ice-dams, and mold growth, and it is functional across all realistic temperatures. It also provides a secondary weather barrier to help fortify roofs from wind-driven rain or simple exposure to the elements. The synthetic roof underlayment is highly resistant to tear, whether it is by walking on it or UV breakdown. The underlayment can be mechanically fastened to several different substrates, making it an excellent solution for new and re-roofing applications. This moisture resistant synthetic underlayment is a water barrier it is highly engineered and coated which combines a durable and high strength design with a fiber grip walking surface. Its high traction gray layer maintains a cool working environment for workers, and permits easier steep slope walkability.
